Dedham Hosts Urban Land Institute Event to Study Wigwam Pond/Legacy Boulevard Area

The panel's findings will be presented at a planning board meeting October 13.

From the Town of Dedham:

DEDHAM, MA - Architecture and real estate professionals from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Boston/New England will visit Dedham on Thursday, October 13, for a one-day event to consider potential long-term development scenarios for the area between Legacy Place and Wigwam Pond.

The ULI panel will focus on approximately 70 acres of land, from Legacy Boulevard to Wigwam Pond, from Route 1 south to Costco—not including Legacy Place itself. The panel may address several questions: What is the long-term potential of this area for commercial, mixed-use, or residential buildings? How can traffic circulation be improved and the area made more bicycle and pedestrian friendly? What improvements can be made to provide better public access to Wigwam Pond and the commuter rail station?

The panel’s findings will be presented at 7 p.m. that evening at a public meeting of the Town of Dedham Planning Board in the Dedham High School Auditorium, 140 Whiting Avenue.
