Dedham Man Arrested After Assaulting Officer During Traffic Stop

Tiansheng Dang, 24, was driving with a suspended license when he blew through a red light in Brookline.

A Dedham man was arrested last week after swearing at officers, spitting on them, and assaulting one during a traffic stop in Brookline.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, police stopped Tiansheng Dang, 24, after observing him blow through a red light at the intersection of Boylston and Lee Streets. A record check determined Dang’s right to operate had been suspended.

According to police, Dang started screaming obscenities and spitting saliva after he was handcuffed.

He attempted to flee the officers, but was restrained. Dang refused to cooperate with officers and then kicked one of them while they worked to restrain him. Officers sprayed Dang with pepper spray in order to settle him down, police said.

Dang was taken to the Brookline Police Station, where he was booked and charged. According to police, Dang was charged with operating after suspension, assault and battery, and various traffic offenses.
