The Dedham-Westwood Water District on Friday announced that it had lifted mandatory outside water restrictions for residents of both towns.

DWWD officials, though, encouraged residents to be vigilant in practicing water conservation efforts, as many individuals tend to install or re-seed lawns, among other landscaping projects during the fall.

Those who wish to conserve water for gardens can also use rain barrels, officials said, and can visit dwwd.org to find a local rain barrel producer.
