Dedham's Bi-Weekly Yard Waste Collection Begins Monday, April 18
Yard waste collection will begin on Monday, April 18, which is the beginning of Green Recycling Week.

Following the regular, bi-weekly recycling schedule, yard waste collection will begin on Monday, April 18, which is the start of Green Recycling Week. Yard waste collection will happen on your normal recycling day.

A copy of the bi-weekly recycling collection schedule is available on the Department of Public Works (DPW) Recycling & Trash website. The recycling schedule is based on your street address. The full street listing, organized by week and day, is available on page 2 of the January 2022 to June 2022 Collection Schedule.
The DPW has provided the following information to help you prepare yard waste for curbside collection:

- Accepted Items: Leaves, grass, and other easily raked material will be collected. Branches and small brush must be less than 3-inches in diameter and cut into 4-foot lengths, bundled and tied for collection. (Larger branches should be cut and disposed of through a private contractor).
- How to Prepare for Collection: Place items in paper yard bags (available for purchase at grocery & home improvement stores) or loose in open barrels placed at the curb on your regular recycling day.
- Items/Materials Not Accepted: No plastic bags. Do not mix yard waste and household items. Do not place dirt inside the collection bags or open barrels.
- Capacity: There is a weight limit of 50 (fifty) pounds for each bag/barrel of yard waste.
