Police Seek Man Who Snatched Dedham Woman's Purse

Police in Dedham are looking for a suspected thief after one resident’s car was broken into and robbed earlier this month.

A woman’s pocketbook was stolen out of her vehicle while she was inside the Planet Fitness on the Providence Highway on Nov. 11, police said.

A light-skinned black male was standing in front of the victim’s vehicle when she pulled into the gym parking lot. According to the woman, the man witnessed her place her pocketbook under the seat.

Upon leaving the gym a short-while later, the victim found her back window smashed and her pocketbook missing. She told police that there were several credit cards and other personal items inside the bag.

The suspect is said be about 5-foot-10, with a medium build and around 30 years old, the victim told police. Those with information are asked to contact Dedham police.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
