Selectmen Hold First 3 of 11 Liquor License Violation Hearings
The alleged violations stem from failed compliance checks.

DEDHAM, MA — Representatives from three of the 11 establishments accused of failing a liquor licence compliance check appeared in front of the selectmen last week.
Hearings were held for Anthony’s Wine and Spirits, Deli After Dark, and Halfway Cafe. In all three instances, an underage operative working with Dedham Police was able to purchase alcohol.
The failed checks were rare for the three establishments. For Anthony’s Wine and Spirits, it was their first in at least 20 years, the first for Deli After Dark, and the first in 57 checks for Halfway Cafe.

Selectmen Dennis Guilfoyle iterated that the checks were for educational purposes and should not be considered a sting.
The board took all three alleged violations under advisement and will vote on a finding and possible sanctions at their next meeting. Hearings for Joe's American Bar and Grill, Showcase Cinemas, PF Chang's, Victory Grille, Costco's, Met Bar, Pancho's Taqueria, and Tahiti are scheduled for future meetings.
