Shoplifting, Crash Leads To OUI Charge: Dedham Police Log

August 5

7:15 a.m. - Following a traffic stop on Milton Street, a driver was cited for operating with a suspended license, a defective equipment violation, using a cell phone while driving, and speeding.

August 6

9:00 p.m. - A caller reported a hit-and-run crash on Bussey Street. The driver was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, two counts of leaving the scene of property damage, operating a motor vehicle with no lights, and operating to endanger.

11:10 p.m. - A person at Legacy Place reported a person who appeared to be drunk and began to kick the rear driver’s side door of a vehicle, causing a dent. The suspect was taken into protective custody and issued a summons for defacing or damaging property.

August 7

12:58 p.m. - An officer responded to a report of shoplifting at the LL Bean at Legacy Place. The suspect was charge d with larceny under $1,200.
