Statewide Mask Advisory for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Residents

As of December 21, 2021, The MA Department of Public Health (DPH) advises all residents, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask or face covering when indoors and not in your home. This advisory, which can be found on the State’s website, is in response to the spread of the Delta variant and the emerging Omicron variant. DPH especially urges this recommendation if you have a weakened immune system, or if you are at increased risk for severe disease because of your age or an underlying medical condition, or if someone in your household has a weakened immune system, is at increased risk for severe disease, or is unvaccinated.

Holiday Safety Tips

To help you enjoy a safe holiday season, remember to take precautions like wearing a mask and washing your hands, and avoid activities that put you, your family, and your friends at increased risk for COVID-19.  Here are more tips:

  • Protect those not yet eligible for vaccination such as young children by getting yourself and other eligible people vaccinated. Vaccine appointments can be scheduled at www.vaxfinder.mass.gov.
  • In line with DPH’s Mask Advisory, wear a well-fitted mask or face covering when indoors and not in your home. Masking still proves to be an effective measure at reducing the spread of COVID-19.
  • If you are considering traveling for a holiday or event, visit CDC’s travel page to help you decide what is best for you and your family. The CDC still recommends delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated.
  • If you are sick or have symptoms, don’t host or attend a gathering and get tested.

The Board wishes everyone a safe and healthy holiday season!

Stay safe and be kind!

Respectfully submitted by the Board of Health,
Leanne Jasset, Chairman
Mary Ellard, Vice-Chairman
Noreen Guilfoyle, Member
