An investigation conducted by the FBI and the Plainville Massachusetts Police Department led to the indictment of Dedham resident and chair of the Board of Assessors, Cheryl Sullivan. Ms. Sullivan was arraigned today in U.S. District Court in Providence, RI on five counts of wire fraud.

“The Town has been made aware of the indictment and the allegations against Ms. Sullivan,” said Town Manager Leon Goodwin. “We as the Town take these charges very seriously and would like to assure the public that they are not related to her work as an elected official to the Board of Assessors.”

Ms. Sullivan was first elected to the Board of Assessors in 2018 and was re-elected in 2021 where she currently serves as the chair.

The Town has no additional comment or further action at this time and all questions regarding the investigation should be directed to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Rhode Island at 401-709-5357.
