1. Finance & Warrant Committee Has Begun to Review Proposed FY23 Budget
The Dedham Finance & Warrant Committee began their series of public meetings on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 to review and discuss the proposed Town budget for FY23. These meetings will continue to be held using a hybrid format to allow for interested parties to attend in-person at Town Hall or to participate via Zoom.

The next scheduled meeting of the Finance & Warrant Committee is tonight, March 21st, at 6:30 p.m. where they will discuss Articles 4, 9, 21, 22, and 23 on the 2022 Spring Annual Town Meeting Warrant. Please use the following link to access the meeting agenda and Zoom information: bit.ly/3N5k0xY

2. Absentee Ballot Deadline is April 5, 2022 by 5:00 p.m.
Absentee Ballots are still available for the April 9, 2022 Town Elections. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is Tuesday, April 5, 2022 by 5:00 p.m.
If you are unable to vote at your polling place on the day of an election, due to disability, hospitalization, religious beliefs or absence from Dedham, or if you are worried about coming to the polls because of COVID-19, you may vote by absentee ballot for the upcoming local Town Elections. You must first submit an Absentee Ballot Application to the Town Clerk's office by mail (450 Washington Street) or by dropping the application in the Town Clerk’s Drop Box, located at the rear entrance to Town Hall (see photo below). Completed applications can also be submitted via email to Town Clerk Paul Munchbach at pmunchbach@dedham-ma.gov. Please note, all applications must have an original signature in order to be accepted. Once the Clerk’s Office has received your completed application with an original signature, a ballot will be mailed to your home prior to the election.
The Town Clerk’s Office must receive all completed ballots by the close of polls on Election Day, Saturday, April 9, 2022. (Reminder: Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day in all seven voting precincts).

3. Dedham Police Department Accepting Applications for 2022 Citizens Police Academy
The Dedham Police Department is currently accepting applications for the Department’s 11th Citizens Police Academy. This is an informational program designed to provide citizens of Dedham with an inside look at the inner workings of a modern police department. This will be an interactive forum which will allow for the exchange of information between police officers and citizens. Citizens of all ages are invited to attend. This is a unique opportunity for citizens and officers to build trust and understanding related to policing services in Dedham. There is no cost to attend this program.
Participants will be presented with information from Dedham Police Officers, E911 Dispatchers and civilian personnel. Material related to E-911, crime prevention, juvenile issues, alcohol enforcement, regional law enforcement councils, court procedures, the Sex Offender Registry, firearms and firearms licensing, narcotics, crime scene investigation, traffic issues, motor vehicle law, animal control and more will be discussed.
This will be a 9-week program. The Academy will meet once per week on Tuesday nights starting at 6 pm at the Endicott Estate. Each session will last up to 2 hours. The Academy will run on the following Tuesday nights: April 12, 19 and 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, and June 7. 5. Public Safety Building Updates
What to expect March 21, 2022 (Monday) through March 25, 2022 (Friday):
- The project site remains closed to the public.
- Crews will continue the mechanical, electrical, fire protection system, and plumbing installations this week.
- Piping along the second floor of the Fire Department will continue to be insulated this week.
- Installation of the exterior stone (Shouldice) will continue along the North, South and West sides of the building.
- Anticipated delivery date of the elevator is still the end of March. Remaining repairs to the elevator shaft will be completed in the coming weeks, prior to installation.
- Installation of the first floor Police and second floor Fire door frames are nearing completion and will continue this week.
- Air Vapor Barrier nearing completion, Punch List repairs ongoing.
- As of Friday, March 14, 2022, all repairs to the stair #1 slab have been completed.
- The roof above the Police Sallyport is nearing completion and will continue this week.
- Expect periodic entrance and exit of large trucks at the project site entrance, located at the intersection of Washington Street and Bryant Street. Please expect minor traffic delays at this intersection.
- No additional traffic impacts or pedestrian impacts are anticipated during this week.
