EASTON, MA — A woman who had been missing for more than a week was found stuck in the mud at a state park Monday evening, according to police. Emma Tetewsky, 31, of Stoughton, was reported missing June 26.

Easton police officers were dispatched to Borderland State Park around 6 p.m. Monday after hikers called 911 and said they heard a woman screaming for help in a swamp-like area.

Officers arrived and could hear Tetewsky but couldn't see her. Three officers waded 50 feet from the shore through thick brush and swamp to reach Tetewsky.

Tetewsky was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. She suffered serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Police said that the public tips over the last five days helped save the woman.

"As expected, Easton Police officers rose to the occasion," Easton Fire Chief Justin Alexander said in a statement. "We value our close relationship with Easton Police, which makes rescues like this possible."

Tetewsky's family called the rescue "miraculous." She had last been seen by her family June 25 and was reported missing the next day, according to WCVB-5 ABC.

Tetewsky's mother said it will take a long time for her daughter "to heal physically and emotionally, but she is OK."
