5 Dolphins Rescued On Cape Cod
The five dolphins are healthy after the shallow water stranding, officials said.
CAPE COD, MA — Yarmouth Fire and International Fund for Animal Welfare officials successfully rescued five dolphins over the weekend.
On Sunday, the department and IFAW officials pushed through a "coordinated effort" to rescue dolphins stranded along the shoreline near Hallet's Mill Pond Bridge, on the border of Yarmouth and Barnstable.
"Today, YFD received a call from IFAW requesting assistance with multiple live dolphins stranded in shallow water," the department said. "Fire & Rescue personnel responded quickly, providing manpower and logistical support to ensure the safety of both the animals and rescue teams."
