Cape Cod Man Charged After Lewd Acts In Front Of Women In Parking Lot: Cops

Police say the man also broke into an area assisted living facility. In addition to the new charges, he faces a prior lewdness charge.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod man faces charges after multiple instances in which he exposed himself, and masturbated in front of, women on Cape Cod.

Christopher Zarella, 24, of Sagamore Beach, faces charges related to three incidents that were all investigated by the Bourne Police Department.

The first was reported on June 27 around 11:20 pm, when police say he unlawfully gained entry to Keystone Place assisted living in Buzzards Bay. He was confronted by staff upon entering and fled the area.

Then, around 1 a.m. on June 28, police say he approached a woman who was parked in a vehicle at the Sagamore Beach Commuter Lot before exposing himself and masturbating.

On June 30, around 3 a.m., police say Zarella again approached a woman at the commuter lot and committed the same act.

In both instances, police were called and the suspect fled, officials said.

On July 10, an arrest warrant was sought and granted for two counts of open and gross lewdness and one count of breaking into a building at night. Zarella was arrested and taken to Falmouth District Court.

In addition to these new charges, Zarella has an open case in Barnstable District Court for open and gross lewdness.

Zarella was released from court on personal recognizance bail. A request to revoke his bail on the open case was denied by the court, officials said.
