Cape Cod Nonprofit Gets Grant For Veterans Finance Education
Joe Q Veteran Coffee Break is one of seven state organizations to receive the "Operation Money Wise" grant in 2024.
FALMOUTH, MA — An Upper Cape nonprofit is among the seven organizations that will receive a financial education grant for those who serve veterans.
Joe Q Veteran Coffee Break, Inc., based in Falmouth, joins six other organizations that will get funding to create new or improve pre-existing financial programs. In total, these groups were awarded $35,000, or $5,000 each.
“We are proud to support organizations that enhance the financial well-being of our military community,” said State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg. “This year’s grantees make a real difference in the lives of those who served our country, helping them achieve stability and security for themselves and their families.”

Since 2016, the grant program, "Operation Money Wise", has provided over $264,432 in funding for financial education programs offered by veteran-serving non-profit organizations, public agencies and higher education institutions.
The grant allows the organizations to design programs and workshops for veterans, with many of them including sessions on topics like budgeting, managing debt and preparing for retirement.
