Cape Cod Officials Tackle Fire, Rollover Crash
Bourne fire and rescue officials dealt with both calls simultaneously on Monday evening.
BOURNE, MA — Fire and rescue officials in Bourne needed to act swiftly to deal with two serious incidents on Monday evening.
Around 5:15 p.m., officials responded to a fire at 9 Dale St., finding the fire confined to the garage area of the home.
Officials were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the living area. One resident was taken to an area hospital while another turned down treatment and transportation to the hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fire officials said they also dealt with a rollover crash with one person entrapped at the same time as the fire.

"Tonight was an exceptionally busy evening for Bourne Fire/Rescue. Our crews did a phenomenal job responding to two simultaneous serious incidents—a structure fire with injured residents and a rollover motor vehicle crash with entrapment," officials said.
"We were fortunate to have a fully-staffed engine with four personnel arrive at the fire, allowing us to quickly initiate an aggressive attack and contain the flames before they spread further. Their immediate action made a critical difference in protecting the home and its residents."
