EV Truck Fire At Cape Cod Dealership Ends Without Injury

First responders were able to get the fire under control quickly, but it took several hours to fully extinguish the EV truck.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod car dealership was met with a heavy fire and police department presence after a vehicle fire on Wednesday.

The Bourne Police Department’s Dispatch Center received 9-1-1 calls around 2:15 p.m. for a vehicle fire at Battle’s GMC on MacArthur Boulevard, officials said.

Officers responded and observed an EV pickup truck, a 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali, parked in the rear lot fully engulfed in flames.

Bourne Fire Department officials arrived on scene and were able to quickly contain the fire, but it took several hours to fully extinguish the vehicle, officials said.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but officials said it doesn't appear to be suspicious in nature.
