Falmouth Commodores Alumni Named To World Baseball Classic Rosters

There are 65 former Cape Cod Baseball League players who will suit up for their home countries in the World Baseball Classic.

FALMOUTH, MA — The World Baseball Classic is set to begin in March, with 20 countries competing for the title in 2023.

Of the hundreds of players suiting up this year, 65 of them are alums of the Cape Cod Baseball League, including five who played for Falmouth.

Fifteen teams have at least one former Cape Cod League player on their roster, and Israel has the most players with connections to the Cape League with 15 players on the roster.

Here are the Falmouth alumni who will play in the World Baseball Classic this year:

  • Edouard Julien, Canada
  • Jake Bird, Israel
  • Jeff Passantino, Falmouth
  • Brady Singer, USA
  • Nick Martinez, USA

The World Baseball Classic begins on March 7 with a matchup of Cuba against The Netherlands. This year's Team USA begins on March 11 against Great Britain at 10 p.m.
