Mashpee Commons Throwing Tax-Free Weekend Bash
Mashpee Commons is hosting a "Summer Sidewalk Party" for shoppers hoping to take advantage of this weekend's sales tax holiday.
MASHPEE, MA — Mashpee Commons is joining the fun of the state's tax-free weekend and throwing a "Summer Sidewalk Party".
The 2024 Massachusetts sales tax holiday will be held on Aug. 1o and 11, offering consumers a 6.25 percent discount on most smaller items. Some retailers — including ones that help with back-to-school shopping — will have special sales going on to entice consumers even more.
The sidewalk party in Mashpee is scheduled for Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m. with a live DJ, gift card giveaways, activities for kids and, of course, sidewalk shopping.

The discount applies to purchases under $2,500, but doesn't include purchases like restaurant bills; cannabis, alcohol and tobacco; gasoline; utilities, including phone plans; and big-ticket items like cars and boats (which typically cost $2,500+ anyway).
