St. Patrick's Day Features New Beer, Maybe New Pub: MA Food Week

Barnstable Brewing is set to release an Irish beer this weekend while a Newton pub is trying to open in time for St. Patrick's Day.

MASSACHUSETTS — Welcome to Patch's weekly round up of food and restaurant news in Massachusetts, where we review openings, closings and more in the state's dining scene.

This weekend, Barnstable Brewing will host a release party for their new Irish Blonde beer this Saturday at the brewery with food from JP’S Twisted BBQ & Grille.

For Barnstable, this is the first edition of the Irish Blonde that they've released.

"A bright, malty and balanced expression of Brewing. Simple ingredients, combined with our passion for Brewing," the company said in an Instagram post.

The Dooliner Irish Pub and Restaurant appears set to open in the former location of Cafe Martin West Street, which closed at the end of 2023 after two years in business in Newton.

According to the Dooliner Facebook page, the spot at 7 West Street will include a dog-friendly patio.

Owners posted last week: "Crossing some T's and dotting some I's before we open our doors.

"Fingers crossed before St. Paddy's."
