Ducklings Saved from Green Line Tracks on Comm. Ave

The Green Line had to make way for ducklings on Tuesday afternoon.

Several ducklings fowled up Green Line service near Kenmore Square yesterday afternoon, when they decided to take a stroll along the T tracks near the Blanford T stop on Commonwealth Avenue.

MBTA Spokesperson Joe Pesaturo said the B-line trolley operator stopped the train when he saw a group of people chasing ducklings as the trolley approached the Kenmore Square tunnel around 1:30 p.m.

After a short duck hunt, a couple of vet technicians from the Animal Rescue League of Boston were able to safely remove the ducklings from the quacks. I mean, tracks.

"Service was interrupted for twelve minutes while the humans and waterfowl were cleared from the right-of-way," Pesaturo said in an email statement.
