First Responders Honored at Northeastern Graduation

Gov. Patrick honored Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis with an honorary degree dedicated to the first responders at this year's Boston Marathon.

During the explosions at the Boston Marathon this year, most people sprinted away as fast as they could. As they should have.

But a select few ran towards the explosions.

Those first responders, EMTs and volunteers put themselves in the line of danger to save others. And many of them were from Northeastern's Bouvé College of Health Sciences, students, teachers and alumni who were there at the scene.
