Police: Victims Pistol Whipped in Home Invasion in Fenway

Two victims were assaulted with a firearm just after midnight Friday.

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions. 

Police are investigating a Westland Avenue home invasion that resulted with two victims being assaulted with a firearm.

Boston Police responded to a report of a person with a gun at 11:59 a.m. on Thursday, August 1.

Officers arrived outside of 65 Westland Avenue and found the victim with a gaping wound to the head and the ear. A male victim was also had wounds to the head and hands. Officers saw two other people inside the apartment.

Officers talked to the victims, who said that they had let two men into the apartment. The victims described both men as black males, one being about 6’2’’, wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans, and the other was 6 feet, wearing a black hoodie and army cargo shorts. The victims told police that the two men brandished firearms.

According to the report, the victims were in a bedroom when they heard noises from the living room area. The suspects demanded to know where someone who owed them money was. When the victims did not cooperate, the suspects began pistol-whipping everyone inside the apartment. Officers observed bloodstains on the walls and all over the kitchen and living room.

The male victim fought one of the suspects and officers found a loaded clip in the kitchen. The male victim was able to escape and called the police from a neighbor’s apartment.

The two men fled before police arrived.

Police talked to a neighbor, who said she heard screaming coming from next door. Other neighbors told police that there had been ongoing problems involving that apartment.

Officers checked the occupants of the apartment for warrants and found an active warrant for Ann Marie Decotis out of Malden District Court for Possession of a Class A substance.

Decotis, of 27 Palmer Avenue, Saugus, MA, was charged for the warrant.

Detectives recovered one 9mm clip with on live round. Officers noted that a similar incident took place at this address on July 12, 2013 involving the same victims. This investigation is ongoing.
