Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, Feb. 19: BU Fitness Center Dedication

Here's a few things happening in the neighborhood today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a partly cloudy day with a high of 47 degrees. It's too early to be spring, but after last weekend, we'll take it. 

2. State Senator Office Hours: State Senator Will Brownsberger will hold office hours tonight from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Fenway at Pavement Coffeehouse (1096 Boylston St.) between Mass Ave. and Hemenway St. Brownsberger announced last week that if Sen. Markey wins a U.S. Senate seat, he would run for U.S. Congress. See here for more on that story.

3. Community Meeting: Tomorrow night, come to a community planning meeting put on by the Fenway Center for Community Developmentto address affordable housing, institutional expansion, local businesses, disability access and other neighborhood issues. The meeting will be held on Wed. night at Fenway Health (1340 Boylston St.) at 6 p.m. See here for more information.

4. BU Dedication: Boston University is opening a BU Fitness Center at Boston Centers for Youth & Families' Blackstone Community Center in the South End as part of a $1.25 million investment commitment over the next five years. Mayor Menino and BU President Dr. Robert A. Brown will be at the facility today to dedicate it.
