Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today: Berklee Jazz Festival

Here's what's happening in the neighborhood today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is a cloudy day with a chance of rain in the afternoon. Temperatures will hover around 40 degrees. 

2. Berklee Jazz Festival: The Berklee College of Music High School Jazz Festival will host more than 200 bands and vocal ensembles featuring 3,000 students from 13 U.S. states this weekend. The entire event is free and open to the public, and will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston Street, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. See here for more information. 

3. First Fridays: MFA First Fridays are held on the first Friday of every month from 6-9:30 p.m. With the purchase of admission to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave. ($25 adult, $23 seniors), you can explore the exhibits, enjoy music, cash bars featuring signature cocktails and delicious tapas available for purchase. DJ Holtie will be featured on Jan. 4. This event is open to visitors ages 21 and up; purchase tickets in advance at mfa.org or at the door. See here for more information

4. Grammy-winning Violinist at NEC:  Celebrity Series of Boston proudly presents a performance by world-renowned violinist and two-time Grammy winner Hilary Hahn at New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall (30 Gainsborough St.) tonight at 8 p.m. Accompanied by pianist Cory Smythe, Hahn will perform pieces by Bach, Corelli, and Fauré. 5. JT/Jay-Z Show Expanded: In case you missed it yesterday, the highly anticipated Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z Legends of Summer Tour went on sale yesterday and sold out in about 20 minutes, prompting organizers to announce another show date on Aug. 11th. Tickets will go on sale on March 8. See here for more.
