Things to Know in Fenway-Kenmore Today, May 21: Office Hours with Brownsberger

1. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a partly cloudy day, with a high near 68 degrees.
2. Meet Your State Senator: State Senator Will Brownsberger will hold office hours tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. the Starbucks (755 Boylston St.) between Fairfield and Exeter. All are welcome to visit Senator Brownsberger during this time to discuss issues, ask for help in dealing with state agencies, or talk about any other topic of concern. See here for more information.
3. Fenway CDC Meeting: The Fenway Community Development Corporation's annual meeting will be held on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Fenway Health, (1340 Boylston St.) There’ll be a light supper, an election board members, and time to honor stellar neighbors and volunteers. In addition, the organizaiton will look back, through stories & photos, over four decades of building community and improving lives in the Fenway. See here for more information.

4. Author Talk: Alice Hoffman, author of The Dovekeepers, a historical novel describing the AD70 massacre at Masada, will be giving a talk at the South End Library tonight at 6:30 p.m. Her novel tells the story of four women at the fortress before it fell during the Jewish-Roman war. 5. Don't Cut Down Trees: The Boston Parks and Recreation Department announced today they would like to remind property owners and contractors that it is illegal to remove street trees without review or approval from the City of Boston Tree Warden. Street trees on public property are protected by Massachusetts General Law Ch. 87, and may not be cut down without a public hearing and authorization by the City Tree Warden.
