Prayers Up For Deatrich Wise
Deatrich Wise Jr. spent the first eight years of his NFL career in New England. A beloved teammate, he was named a captain and won a Super Bowl with the Pats.
He even has a vegan breakfast burrito named in his honor at the beloved Veggie Galaxy in Cambridge.
On Thursday night football, Wise's first season with the Washington Commanders ended prematurely.
Wise suffered what NESN reports is a season-ending quad injury just two games into the 2025 season. The injury happened on a field goal attempt by the Green Bay Packers.
"I’m truly grateful for all the love, prayers, and support I’ve received. This was an unfortunate experience, but when you give so much to the game and do everything you can to improve for yourself and for your team’s success it can feel like there’s a lot to play for. When you stop, it can feel like everything around you stops too," Wise said.

Dolphins Will Have Hill
The Miami Dolphins are on disaster watch after a Week 1 dismantling by the Daniel Jones-led Indianapolis Colts.
Listen to any NFL podcast, recap show or otherwise and he'll hear a chorus of voices telling you that it's blow-it-up season in Miami.
The NFL world also learned that the league is investigating wide receiver Tyreek Hill after his estranged wife filed for divorce and, in the filing, included instances of alleged domestic violence.
Hill, who has had a tumultuous summer at work, too, will be available for Week 2, however. What comes of the league's investigation is still up in the air.
