Elton John At Gillette Stadium: MBTA Offers Round-Trip Commuter Route
Traveling from Boston for the Elton John concert at Gillette Stadium? A special event commuter rail route can get you there. Here's how.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Elton John is nearing his final tour stops in New England this week, and it just got easier to get to Gillette Stadium from Boston.
John’s July 27 and 28 shows will be his final New England tour dates, and his first time performing at Gillette Stadium since 2009, when he performed with Billy Joel on the Face to Face 2009 Tour.
His "Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour" will mark his last North American tour dates, with stops at iconic venues throughout the continent before ending at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles with three shows in November.

For the concerts, the MBTA will be providing a round-trip, special event commuter rail train from Boston to the Elton John concerts at Gillette Stadium on July 27 and 28. The special event train will depart from South Station and arrive in Foxborough one hour before the show starts on both days.

After leaving South Station, the train will stop at Back Bay and Dedham Corp before arriving at its final destination of Foxboro Station.
The schedule for July 27 and 28 can be found here:
- Depart South Station: 6:05 p.m.
- Depart Back Bay: 6:10 p.m.
- Depart Dedham Corp: 6:25 p.m.
- Foxboro Station: 7 p.m.
The train will depart Foxboro Station 30 minutes after the concert ends.
Roundtrip tickets are $20 and can be purchased at South Station, North Station, Back Bay Station or on the mTicket app.
Tickets for the Wednesday and Thursday event trains will be sold separately and need to be purchased for the correct corresponding date. Tickets must be purchased prior to boarding the event train.
Regular Commuter Rail tickets and passes are not valid for this special event train.
