Forum To Discuss Train Track Upgrades

More work on the freight line that runs through Foxborough is planned this summer.

From Foxborough resident Donald DiMauro:

MassDOT has worked on railroad track renovations on the Mansfield/Framingham line since starting last summer, but more serious work is scheduled. The addition of a second track parallel to the existing main line extending from the Mansfield Yard to Spring Street, as well as grade crossing upgrades are in already in progress and there is more to come.

If you are interested or concerned in the increased freight designated for runs between midnight and 5 a.m., train lines of 100 cars running through town, the intense disruption and public safety concerns, and wonder what more the state has in store for us, please attend a meeting on July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hampton Inn & Suites Foxborough/Mansfield at Forbes Crossing organized by state Rep. Jay Barrows and including town and MassDOT officials to discuss these important matters.
