FHS XC Runner Heads to Falmouth
Foxboro High School junior Liz Holmes will take on some of the best distance runners in the state when she competes in the Cochary High School Mile during Falmouth Road Race Weekend.
The winner of the nine person race will take home a $2500 grant to improve or implement change at their school in athletics or wellness. The schools, in collaboration with the donors, will be able to choose from options such as athletic equipment, team uniforms or afternoon wellness activities.
Despite an injury filled season, Holmes was able to run a 5:14 mile during her sophomore year and holds a personal best of 4:42.99 from the 2012 New Balance High School Indoor Nationals.
The Cochary High School Mile is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 10 at Falmouth High School.
