Foxborough and Massachusetts Republicans Represented at RNC

Foxborough’s State Senate representative Jay Barrows (R-Mansfield) says the Republican National Convention is well under way and on the right track, despite some meteorological problems.

On Tuesday night, Ann Romney shared her experiences of marrying her husband at a young age, being a young couple renting a basement apartment and living on meals of tuna fish and pasta before starting a family that helped to raise five sons and 18 grandchildren.

"[Tuesday] night was the best night that I have ever witnessed," Barrows said. "She really related to the women of our delegation and, I'm sure the women across America. It was really inspirational and a really great chance to meet her."

Wednesday night saw speeches from Chris Christie, governor of the state of New Jersey.

"Mitt Romney's going to have to win this campaign," Christie said on Good Morning America. "He's going to have to let the American people see who he is."

Barrows said that the best is yet to come.

 "I think the bar's set pretty high for him," Barrows said. "I wouldn't want to give a speech after his wife's last night. I think he'll do very very well."

Barrows said the Massachusetts delegation has not been ignored during the convention, actually far from it.

"We're in the front row," he said. "It's a great honor and a great privilege to be a part of that."

Foxborough native Angela Davis is currently at the convention serving as an alternate delegate to Romney. Massachusetts State Representative Betty Poirier is also in attendance.

"We are from the Governor's home state, this will be an exciting historic time for us all," said Davis. "I first met Governor Romney in 1994 before he was an elected official, he was a caring and an effective job creator and entrepreneur, positively effecting the bottom lines in business back then."
