FOXBOROUGH, MA — For 17 years the Foxboro Against Diabetes 5K was a town staple which saw thousands of runners over the years gather at Schneider Electric and race across town on the first Saturday in June.
While the race is gone, a new charity run has taken its place. About 200 runners have signed up for the Foxborough Care 5K, to take place June 2 at 10 a.m. The event is a collaboration between community volunteers who wanted to continue to the long-standing tradition created by the Foxboro Against Diabetes road race, according to the Foxborough Cares website.
The race features the exact same course as the one used in the previous race. Runners will start in front of Schnider Electric on Neponset Avenue and take a right at Chestnut Street, right on Mechanic Street, right on Railroad Avenue, left on Bird Street, right on Baker Street, right on Chestnut Street, and a right to the finish on Neponset Avenue.
