LETTER: Stephen Udden Will Bring a Positive, Fresh Perspective to School Committee
Foxborough resident Brian Walton writes in to endorse Stephen Udden for School Committee on Tuesday, April 30th.

Dear editor,
The School Committee election is important in that many decisions affecting the citizens of Foxborough – particularly those decisions affecting our youth – will be determined during the upcoming three-year term.
We need to elect a candidate to the School Committee who can and will, based on demonstrated understanding of the issues, exhibit rational, intelligent, analytical, and independent thinking devoid of personal agenda – Stephen Udden is that candidate.

I have known Steve for nearly seven years as a parent, friend, and public servant. He and I served on the Advisory Committee together where he was a vocal advocate for increasing services to our seniors and other Human Services departments despite limited resources available in the town budget.
Steve served on the Education subcommittee and regularly met with senior administration and faculty to discuss budgetary matters, including funding issues related to contracts and capital projects. Steve continued his volunteer public service to students of Foxborough by filling the vacated Foxborough seat on the Southeast Regional Technical High School board.

One of Steve’s greatest assets is his collegial manner which puts others at ease. His demeanor and relaxed conversation style, coupled with his quick wit and sense of humor, enable him to ask probing questions without invoking defensive responses.
I write this letter of endorsement as his friend and as someone who continues to be very impressed with his commitment to our town. Steve is a consensus builder and will be a welcome addition to the School Committee.
I have complete confidence in Steve to represent us well and be a positive influence on the School Committee. He will bring a fresh perspective to the committee that will be most refreshing.
On Tuesday, April 30, I ask that you join me in casting a vote for the candidate who is smart, committed, invested, and highly capable.
Vote for Stephen Udden.
Sincerely,
Brian P. Walton
