New England Revolution Unveil Defiance Secondary Kit For 2023 And 2024

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The New England Revolution are scheduled to open the 2023 MLS season on Feb. 25 at Charlotte FC.

On Wednesday, the Revs unveiled the kit they will be wearing for that contest, and in many away games during the next two seasons.

The new Defiance Kit by adidas is the team's new "community uniform" and features a white jersey and red shorts, with red socks and a red trim along the shoulder and sleeves.

The shirt features a red "strikethrough" across the chest that, according to the club, "embodies New England's famous spirit of positive defiance." The club also pointed out that the red "strikethrough" on the kit is similar to the red "strikethrough" in the Revolution logo.

"Revolution is the ultimate act of defiance, and the club's new kit honors that resilient spirit that sparked the American Revolution, laid the foundation for our country and has resonated throughout the New England region for centuries thereafter," the Revolution said in a statement.

The new shirt also features the Heritage Tree, which makes its first appearance on a Revs Jersey. The tree pays homage to the flag of New England while also celebrating the Revolution's inaugural season in 1996.

On Twitter Wednesday, the new kit was modeled by Revolution players Andrew Farrell, Giacomo Vrioni, Matt Polster, Brandon Bye and Carles Gil.
