Topping Off Ceremony Held For New Patriot Place Medical Center

The last beam at the lifestyle center's new medical center was installed Friday.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The new medical building at Patriot Place hit a milestone Friday with the placement of the final beam.

More than 50 town, Kraft Group, and medical officials celebrated with a topping off ceremony in front of the under construction facility. The building will be the home of a Brigham Health patient clinic in the fall of 2019 and a Dana-Farer medical oncology and hematology outpatient satellite facility in the spring of 2020.

“We are fortunate to live and work in a region that is home to some of our country’s best doctors and medical institutions,” Kraft Group Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft said, according to a release. “This new medical building furthers my belief that every person should have access to the same life-saving, life-changing care that my family has been able to receive while expanding our wonderful partnership with Brigham Health and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As such, Patriot Place will continue to be a destination that offers world-class health care services to people south of Boston and we look forward to celebrating the opening of these facilities in 2019 and 2020.”

Brigham Health will occupy two floors and will expand all services that are currently offered at Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center at Foxborough, including a significant increase in primary care and radiology services.

Dana-Farber will occupy approximately 34,000 square feet of the building and will develop a medical oncology and hematology outpatient satellite facility. Services offered in the new facility include adult medical oncology and hematology exams, infusions, support services and clinical trials.

As is tradition, many signed the last beam before it was raised and put into place.

In addition to the new building, Brigham Health announced that they will be renovating their current medical space at Patriot Place to allow for orthopaedics/sports medicine, imaging, and surgical specialties to be grouped together in designated clinical space. That work is scheduled to be done by the spring of 2020.
