Patriots’ Julian Edelman, Actor Bradley Cooper Visit Marathon Victim Who Helped ID Bombing Suspects

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman and actor Bradley Cooper stopped by Boston Medical Center Thursday to visit Marathon victims, including Jeff Bauman Jr., who helped ID the bombing suspects.

Jeff Bauman Jr., 27, locked eyes with one of the suspects in Monday’s attacks on the Boston Marathon before two deadly bombs went off on Boylston Street, according to MSN.com.

Bauman has lost both of his legs below the knees following injuries sustained from the explosions but the Chelmsford native was able to give the FBI a description of one of the suspects following surgery at Boston Medical Center, according to MSN.com.

“He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, ‘bag, saw the guy, looked right at me,’” Jeff’s brother, Chris Bauman, told MSN.com.

MSN.com reports Jeff Bauman told l them the suspect wore "a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt." The bombing victim added he “locked eyes with the attacker as he placed the bomb-filled bag at the finish line,” according to MSN.com.

On Thursday, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman visited Bauman in the hospital along with actor Bradley Cooper, who is in town shooting a movie, according to WCVB-Boston Channel 5.

Edelman tweeted a photo of the visit and described the encounter as “inspired.”

“Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. [Thursday],” said Edelman via his Twitter handle @Edelman11. “He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong.”

The Boston Medical Center also tweeted the visit Thursday, saying, “Hey @patriots - we're so happy @Edelman11 stopped by @The_BMC to visit our patients!”

Edelman responded, “Met a very tough guy today #inspired.”
