How will new receiver Stefon Diggs look as he comes back from injury? Is it a running back by committee in New England? What to know.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — After a busy offseason that set the tone for the first season under new head coach Mike Vrabel, the New England Patriots are set to begin training camp in Foxborough next week.

The team has released the schedule for public practices, which begin on Wednesday. Players will report to camp on Tuesday.

New England will have its first preseason game on Aug. 8 against the Washington Commanders. Given that it's Vrabel's first year at the helm in New England, it's unclear whether those in attendance will get much of a look at quarterback Drake Maye, or his opposition, Jayden Daniels.

Among other things that are unclear is the status of newly added wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who suffered a torn ACL midway through last season.

The Athletic reported that Diggs could start the year on the PUP List. Typically, that means the player misses the first four weeks of the season. However, another insider reports that he could start the year active. Suffice it to say, there's a lack of clarity in his status.

Other stories to watch at camp are the development of the offensive line and a hypothetical competition at running back that, maybe more likely, could develop into a thunder and lightning style committee.
