Attleboro Woman Arrested in Foxborough for Alleged Counterfeit Check Scheme (UPDATE)

UPDATE (Feb. 26, 8 a.m.) – TD Bank manager called Foxborough police at 11:37 a.m. on Feb. 14 to report they had a woman at their bank trying to commit fraud. Officer David Foscaldo responded to the scene with assistance from other officers to investigate. Foxborough police arrested Charlese A. Townes, 19, of Attleboro and charged her with attempted larceny over $250 at TD Bank.

Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary said his department had been working with secret service on this regional counterfeit check scheme. O’Leary said Townes was also charged in North Attleboro. Foxborough police faxed a copy of the arrest report to the U.S. Secret Service Boston Field Office, East Providence Police Department and North Attleboro Police Department.

11:37 a.m. – Foxborough Police arrested Charlese A. Townes, 19, of Attleboro and charged her with attempted larceny over $250 at TD Bank on Central Street after receiving a call from the bank’s manager.
