"Our town charter vests in the town manager full authority and responsibility for personnel matters. I am convinced that this authority has been exercised responsibly with the respect to the allegations alluded to in the Foxborough Patch article. It is fundamentally unfair to Mr. Scollins, to our Town Manager, and to the board to assume that the allegations haven't been addressed simply because the outcome is not shared publicly. As a community leader, I strive to be diligent in the stewardship of the community and I know that our town manager does as well. This means that all allegations against our employees are taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and remedial action is taken as may be warranted. This is what I would expect from the town if I expected any perceived mistreatment by a town employee. I also expect, through, that we will, in turn, afford our employees the requisite due process and safeguard the confidentially of their personnel files. If Mr. Scollins' accusers were on the receiving end of allegations, I know they would expect and be afforded the same from the town," Feldman wrote.

He went on to call Scollins an exceptionally capable and dedicated public servant who is deserving of a new contract and undeserving of "uninformed and unprincipled attacks."
