Suspect In Jerod Mayo's Dog Death To Face Charge From Wrentham PD
More charges could be filed, Wrentham Police said.

WRENTHAM, MA — The dog trainer who is facing a charge of obstruction related to the death of former New England Patriot Jerod Mayo's dog Knox will face at least one more charge.
Wrentham Police announced this week that Amelia Ferreira of Cranston, Rhode Island will be charged with filing a false police report and other charges may be filed. She is also facing an obstruction charge filed by the Cranston Police Department.
Ferreira, a dog trainer, originally told police that she was walking Knox and another dog around Joe's Rock in Wrentham when Knox "simply vanished" while she was attending to the other dog. At the time, Wrentham Police call the circumstances of Knox's disappearance mysterious, noting that there was no blood or fur around the area where the dog supposedly went missing and the fact that English Bulldogs are not known for running due to their short legs and poor cardio.

The R.I. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said in a release that the body of Knox was found inside Ferreira's home in the Edgewood neighborhood of Cranston and alleged that Ferreira is responsible for the dog's death. The former Patriots star went further and stated that Knox's body was found in a trash bag inside a closet.
Mayo described the search for Knox as a "wild goose chase," writing on Instagram that he hired scuba teams, private investigators, lawyers and more in an attempt to find his family's dog.
The dog's death remains under investigation by Cranston Police.
