“I write with sadness that the King Charles Cavalier was humanely put to rest earlier today. After exam, ultrasound, emergency first aid and x-rays he had multiple fractures. His quality of life is of upmost concern and the humane answer was euthanasia. The cocker spaniel, who we’ve named Marley, is doing well at the vets for his treatment.”

Two dogs were abandoned near the Pond Street Recreational Complex in Norfolk overnight and police are trying to find out more about the dogs.
Norfolk Police rescued the first dog at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and rushed him to a veterinarian because of ”critical care injuries and neglect,” said Norfolk Animal Control.
That dog is a male King Charles Cavalier, black and brown in color and approximately 5 years old.
The second dog was found at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in woods in the same area. The intact male Cocker Spaniel was also taken to the vet for care and treatment for neglect. He is black in color and approximately 3-4 years old.
“We are reaching out to the public in hopes to ascertain who owns these animals. We are also urging all surrounds town ACO and Town Clerks to check their records for these animals, all veterinarians and groomers to check their data bases,” said Norfolk Animal Control.
“If anyone has any information regarding who owned these animals to please contact the Norfolk Police Department at 508-528-3206. For further information please contact Animal Control Officer and Special Police Officer, Hilary Cohen.”
