Wrentham Village Premium Outlets, Franklin Rotarty Host Chalkfest for Charity

Wrentham Village Premium Outlets is bringing together art, charity, and the community as the Center hosts the first-annual Chalkfest for Charity in partnership with the Franklin Rotary Club on Saturday, October 15th. Local artists will be creating chalk masterpieces on the sidewalks of the center, and each artist will be sponsored by a local business, organization, or individual. All of the proceeds raised during this event will be donated to the Franklin Rotary Club, associated charities, and projects throughout the year including:

• Sending students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), a leadership program coordinated by Rotary Clubs around world
• Grants to High School Seniors
• Community Outreach

Shoppers and area-residents are invited to check-out the chalk creations from start to finish!

Calling for Local Artists to participate! Artists of all ages are welcome to show off their skills based on the following categories:

Student Competition:

Trophies will be awarded to the top drawings, chosen by a panel of judges for the following age groups:

• Students Grades K – 4th
• Students Grades 5th – 8th
• Students Grades 9th – 12th

A $100 Simon American Express Giftcard will be awarded to the “People’s Choice” vote for the best drawing. Tokens will be available to purchase, and there will be buckets at each drawing. The drawing with the most tokens at the end wins.

Adult Competition (19+ - older):

Simon American Express Giftcards will be awarded to the top three winners chosen by the panel of judges:

• 1st Place - $500 Simon American Express Giftcard
• 2nd Place - $300 Simon American Express Giftcard
• 3rd Place - $200 Simon American Express Giftcard

A $100 Simon American Express Giftcard will be awarded “People’s Choice” vote for the best adult drawing. Tokens will be available to purchase, and there will be buckets at each drawing. The drawing with the most tokens at the end wins.

Each sidewalk square will be assigned to an artist, and interested talent can contact the Franklin Rotary Club to register. Artists are asked to arrive by 10:00a.m. to begin, and the official judging process will start at 4:00 p.m. The artwork will then be on display at the center, weather pending.
