5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: February 12

McAuliffe Library in Saxonville closes today. Dunning Elementary and Keefe Technical stage performances. Brown Bag lunch series and more.

1. Today is the final day the McAuliffe Library branch will be open in Saxonville. The Library will close permanently at 5 p.m.

Tomorrow, there is an open house at the new McAuliffe Library in Nobscot on Water Street from 1 to 4 p.m. No services will be available on Saturday, just tours.

The new Christa McAuliffe Library branch will open on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 9:30 a.m. for business.

2. Framingham Patch editor, and owner of Petroni Media Company, Susan Scully Petroni will speak at the Framingham Library’s February Brown Bag event at noon at the Edgell Memorial Library.

Petroni will present a free program on public relations and marketing for small businesses and organizations. The event was postponed from Feb. 5 due to the snow storm.

3. Fifth graders at Dunning Elementary school will stage The Fabulous Fable Factory tonight, Feb. 12 at Walsh Middle School at 7. This is the only public performance of the show. Tickets will be sold at the door. They are $5 each/$20 family maximum. Click here for more details and a slideshow preview.

4. The Keefe Regional Technical High School Drama Club will present its production of Charlotte’s Web, based on the book by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette this weekend. Opening night is today at 7. There is a matinee show at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets will be sold at the door. $5 adults and $2 for seniors and students under age 12.

5. MUSTANGS in action:

  • Marian High girls basketball has a home game against St. Joe’s at 6:30 p.m.
  • Boys have an away game at 6;30 p.m.

FLYERS in action: There are no varsity games or meets today.
