UPDATED: 5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: February 22
Framingham teen arrested in connection with UMass lockdown in court, power outage on Sunday, and School Committing meeting tonight.

1. A Framingham teen, who turned himself into police on Friday afternoon, after an arrest warrant was issued for him in connection with the UMass Amherst lockdown and assault on Thursday night, will appear in court today.
William McKeown, 19, of Water Street in the Nobscot section of Framingham turned himself into Framingham Police. He was charged with armed robbery, assault and battery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Framingham Patch was also the first media outlet to publish the arrest of McKeown.
Friday afternoon, McKeown was held without bail by Framingham District Court judge David Cunis. He was transported to East Hampshire District Court on Friday afternoon, where he will appear in court again today.

2. A car crash in downtown Framingham, on Hartford Street, knocked out power to hundreds of customers Sunday morning. During the height of the power outage more than 500 customers were without power.
3. Framingham School Committee will meet tonight at 7 in King Elementary. The unusual Monday night meeting is because of a scheduled Special Town Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the Memorial Building.

4. The Framingham Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring lifeguard training lessons.
Classes will run for eight weeks beginning Saturday, Feb. 27 and will run through April 16 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Students must attend ALL eight classes. For more information and to register, click here.
