AAA: Gas Prices Up 14 Cents

The increase of crude oil resulted in an upward tick of 14 cents for gas prices in Massachusetts, according to AAA Southern New England, which has an office in Framingham.

A Feb. 4 AAA survey of prices in the bay state found that self-serve, regular unleaded averaged at $3.59 per gallon, which is 14 cents higher than a week ago.

"Prices locally are up 14 cents over the past month, but haven’t increased as quickly as they did this time last year," reads the release. "The current price is seven cents above the national average for self-serve unleaded of $3.52. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.49."

The range in prices in AAA's survey for unleaded regular is 30 cents, from a low of $3.49 to a high of $3.79.
