Being Female In Today's World Theme of Teen Art Contest

MetroWest Women's Alliance, an initiative of the United Way of Tri-County and the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, announced its 2nd Annual Art Contest.

In a continued effort to engage girls in MetroWest, the MetroWest Women's Alliance, an initiative of the and the , announces its 2nd Annual Art Contest.

Young females in grades 6-12, who live in or attend school within the United Way of Tri-County's MetroWest service area, are eligible to submit.

This year's theme is "In Her Shoes." Young artists will be asked to illustrate what it means to be female in today's world.

Participants may submit up to 2 pieces of artwork in any inspired medium and size.

The winning entry will be featured at the Alliance's 2nd Annual Ruby Slippers Networking and Fundraising Gala  on Sept. 27.  The winning artist will receive a $100 gift certificate. The artwork will be framed and auctioned off at the Ruby Slippers Gala.  All proceeds from this event, including the auction, will be donated to the Alliance's scholarship and mini-grant fund, to support programs that engage, educate, and empower women and girls in the MetroWest Community.
