Cougars Swim Past Mustangs

Marian High’s co-ed swim team competed against Austin Prep on Sunday night at the YMCA in Reading.

The Cougars of Austin Prep won 86-62.

Parker Yan swam a second place finish in the 200 freestyle event, with a time of 2:12.30 minutes, said head coach Sue Morse.

Marian’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Chris Laizos, Molly Bogner, Jacob Bogner, and Noah T-Miller placed second with a time of 2:20.91 minutes.

Personal best times were had in 9 swims, said Morse.

Chris Laizos, Jacob Bogner, and Parker Yan has personal bests in the 200-yard freestyle.

Swimming in their first ever 200-yard individual medley, Molly Bogner and Noah T-Miller had personal bests, said Morse.

Nick Barry and Beth Crevier had personal bests in the 50-yard freestyle.

Nick Antonellis and Grace Griffin has personal bests in the 100-yard freestyle event.

Sunday, Jan. 24 is the final home meet of the season for the Mustangs. The team’s three seniors will be honored in a meet against St.Mary’s at Regis College at 4 p.m.
