Framingham High School senior Donata Liu has been awarded Simmons College's most prestigious award, the Kotzen Scholarship.

Framingham High School senior Donata Liu has been awarded Simmons College’s most prestigious award, the Gilbert and Marcia Kotzen Scholarship. Liu will attend Simmons this fall.

The Gilbert and Marcia Kotzen Scholars Program recognizes outstanding students interested in Simmons College. The Kotzen Scholars Program acknowledges excellence through focus on study abroad, scholarly research, and intellectual curiosity.

The scholarship covers full tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board. An additional annual award of $3,000 is given for study abroad, short-term courses, summer internship tuition, or research support. The scholarship is awarded for the duration of a four-year period of full-time undergraduate study, and supersedes any previously awarded merit scholarship.

At Framingham High School, Liu served as secretary of the marching band and secretary of the key club, and she serves as a youth group leader in the Chinese Gospel Church of Massachusetts. An established leader in her school and church communities, Liu will be a nursing student at Simmons, and has been accepted to the Honors Program.
