Framingham High Staging Hairspray Mother's Day Weekend

Framingham High School Drama Company is offering a special brunch and a show for the first time on May 13, Mother's Day at $25 per person.

is staging the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray Mother's Day weekend.

There will be three performances - Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 and a special Mother's Day matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 13.

Order advanced tickets online at $12 at https://www.showtix4u.com/launch/index.php or purchase tickets at the door at $15 each, if the show is not sold out. The Friday night show is almost sold out and more than half the seats have been sold for the other two performances.

Hairspray is set in the 1960s in Baltimore, Maryland. Plump teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program. Once on the show, she becomes a local celebrity and tries to make changes based on the turbulent times of the 1960s.

Hairspray, which opened on Broadway in 2002, was nominated for 13 Town Awards, and won 8.

This year, the Framingham High School Drama Company is offering brunch and a show for the first time. On Sunday, Mother's Day, there are a limited number of tickets, $25, for brunch at noon and a front and center seat for the 2 p.m. show.

The deadline to order tickets for this special brunch is Friday, May 4. (An order form is attached to this report.)

Brunch menu, catered by Mel's Commonwealth Cafe, includes various quiches, salads, fruit salad, bagel/muffin/danish platter, coffee, juices and other assorted drinks.
