Framingham Man Arraigned in Connection with Shooting

A Framingham man was arraigned today on charges in connection with the in Framingham.

Damon Johnson, 26, of Framingham, was arraigned in Framingham District Court on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, possession of a firearm without a firearms identification card, larceny from a building, home invasion, carrying a firearm without a license, intimidating a witness, and receiving stolen property. 

Judge Robert Greco ordered the defendant held on $50,000 cash bail with conditions that the defendant not commit a crime, have no possession of guns or weapons, must stay away from the victim and witness, no drugs and must submit to random screenings. 

The defendant’s bail on his several open cases was also revoked.

The defendant’s next court date is October 9 for a probable cause hearing.

“,” Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leonesaid in a press release.  “I commend the great collaborative work across town lines that allowed for the defendant to be located and able to be held accountable for this brazen attack.”

Upon arrival, police discovered a 30-year-old male bleeding, but conscious and alert.  The victim and his girlfriend allege the defendant entered their apartment and fired a weapon.  

An was arrested Sept. 2 in Tewksbury.

It is alleged she assisted Damon Johnson in fleeing from the scene and lied to police about his whereabouts and her communication with the defendant.  She was arraigned Aug. 27 in Framingham District Court and was held on $1,700 cash bail.  Her next court date is Sept. 7 for a pre-trial hearing. 

The case was investigated by the Framingham Police Department with assistance from the Framingham State University Police Department.

These charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case is Jennifer Snook.  The Victim Witness Advocate is Lesia Schymonowytsch.
