Framingham Schools Opens Registration For Pre-K Expansion Program
The Partnerships for Early Learners pre-K expansion program is run in partnership with the MetroWest YMCA and Framingham State University
FRAMINGHAM, MA - Framingham Public Schools continues to partner with the MetroWest YMCA and Framingham State University Centers for Early Childhood Education on the Partnerships for Early Learners (PEL) program, which opened its registration period Tuesday.
This pre-K expansion program is designed for Framingham-based families whose 4-year-old children are not currently enrolled in an early childhood program due to lack of access, resources, finances or opportunity.
Partnerships for Early Learners is now accepting applications for the upcoming school year. The program runs from September 2022 - June 2023. Interested families are invited to submit the PreK Intake Form and will need to meet eligibility criteria for acceptance.

If the interest exceeds the available openings, a lottery will take place to fill these pre-K spots for children to attend before entering kindergarten in September 2023 as the Class of 2036.
Curriculum and instruction in this program will be based on half-day enrollment, either in the morning or in the afternoon, with extended day options that will enhance social emotional learning.

Program locations include the BLOCKS Preschool in the Framingham Public Schools, the MetroWest YMCA, and Framingham State University's Centers for Early Childhood Education. There is no guarantee of placement and the assigned program location will be based on a variety of factors pulled from the intake form.
Upon completion of the intake form, families will be contacted to discuss their needs in finding the program that best fits their child’s first early education experience.
“The launch of Partnerships for Early Learners Program has been very successful, with 65 children currently attending classrooms at our three locations,” said Christina Shea, Early Education Manager for Framingham Public Schools. “It is my hope to continue to cultivate programming and partnerships that allow opportunities for all young children to learn and grow in nurturing, high quality early childhood environments throughout the community.”
